I have more than one Gallery of Scotland photos.
Aonach Mor is the 2nd tallest mountain of the British Isles by just a hare’s breath and it stands right next to Ben Nevis the tallest mountain of the British Isles. Aonach mor is a relative easy trek, it has telecabins going to its summit for Skiíng in winter and Cross Mountain Biking in summer. I trekked up Aonach Mor in June 2004. On a clear day you can even see the Isle of Skye from its summit.
Ben Nevis is the tallest mountain not only in Scotland but also in the United Kingdom. It stands at some 1400 meters, I trekked up Ben Nevis the first time in July 2003. Its not too hard to summit Ben nevis provided you take the south rout, 3 hours up and 2 hours down and Bob’s your uncle, even though there is always snow on the top so it can be a bit tough.
However there is a much more sinester side to this mountain and thats called the “Tower Ridge“. People who choose to summit Ben Nevis through the rock faces of the Tower Ridge inevitabley sometimes pay the ultimate price with their lives or limbs.
Glencoe is the most stunning piece of landscape I have ever seen. Enough said.
Isle of Skye
Although the Isle of Skye is only a stone throw away from the Glens, the landscape couldnt be more differnt. It is a beautiful and serene place.
These are combination of photos from Loch Carron, Loch Lomomd, Loch Aber and Loch Lochy. I have both camped wild and in camping sites in these areas. also stayed in BBs when I needed a warm bed and en suit shower. If you havent seen this area I would suggest you get your ass over there the first chance you get, but be prepared and be aware of midges because they will make a meal of you.
